SSL certificates

The SSL certificate puts the padlock in your visitors’ browser. Every website gets a free one from Let’s Encrypt, and it renews by itself.

The free certificate

There’s nothing to do: as soon as your domain points at us, the certificate is issued for it and its www name, and any extra domains are added when they reach us. It renews automatically before it runs out. The SSL certificate tile shows the date it’s valid until.

The SSL Certificate card: an active Let’s Encrypt certificate, the names it covers and the date it is valid through.

If a certificate is missing, check that the domain really points here (Point your domain at Ateculus), then click Get Free SSL Certificate.

Using your own certificate

Bought one, or need an extended validation certificate? Open Advanced settings → Your own SSL certificate (or Replace certificate on the SSL card), paste the certificate (with its chain) and its private key, and click Install Certificate. A certificate you upload doesn’t renew by itself: replace it before it expires.

Using Cloudflare?

Keep your records on DNS only (grey cloud) so the free certificate can be issued.
