Change the PHP version

Every website runs on a PHP version you choose. Newer is faster and safer; only pick an older one if your code needs it.

  1. Open the website. At the bottom of its page, click Show next to Advanced settings, then Main domain & PHP version. (Or type php in the search box at the top of the control panel.)
  2. Under Settings, pick the PHP Version.
  3. Click Save Settings. The change takes a few seconds.
The Settings card with the PHP Version choice and Save Settings.

Using WordPress? Check that your theme and plugins support the version first, or try it on a staging copy (Staging).
