Move a WordPress site to Ateculus

Already have a WordPress site with another host? Copy it here with our migration plugin. Your old site isn’t changed.

Before you start

Create a WordPress website here for it first (Create a website), with the same domain. The import replaces everything on that new website with the copy of your old one.

Start the import

  1. Open the new website, click the WordPress tile and find Import an existing WordPress site (also under Advanced settings → Move a site here).
  2. Click Import a site, read the note and click Yes, start the import.
  3. Click Download plugin. The plugin is made for this import only.
Replace this site with your old one? Importing replaces the files, pages, posts, users and settings on the new site.

On your old site

  1. Sign in to your old site’s WordPress admin.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file you downloaded, install it and click Activate.
  3. Open Site Migrator in the admin menu and click Start.

The copy uploads to us and you can follow it in the control panel. When it’s finished, point your domain here (Point your domain at Ateculus).

Treat the plugin file like a password: don’t share it. It stops working a few days after you download it, and each download replaces the one before, so always install the newest. Changed your mind? Click Cancel import.
